So...it has been a very long time since I have updated. I have been a very busy girl. No it is not the end of my journey on DA, but you are probably wondering why title my journal "Journey's End" right? Well if you weren't you get to find out anyways. My dad has had cancer for a couple years now and he has survived long past the time the doctors gave him, but now he is on his last leg. He can no longer get out of bed, he knows no words but moaning, and grunting...he will probably leave us next week. I have had my share of shed tears, and I have had my share of heartbreak, but I think this tops everything. I have cried more this last week than I think I have cried the entire time he has been sick, I believe that is true to now just because before there was still some hope of survival, so hope that maybe something good would eventually happen, but now he lies in a hospice bed in our living room, gasping for breath and not drinking or eating anything. All he does is takes his medicine when force fed it. I don't know what to do...but I'm helping plan his funeral and that is a really surreal feeling to me...it feels so real and close to home now...I really don't know what I'll do when he's gone...but I know I will survive because that's what he would have wanted.
So right now I will raise a glass to my dad and sollute him for being a great dad, husband, and friend. He always did what he believed was right and learned to back down and admit when he was wrong. I just hope that heaven has enough room for such a big, and stubborn heart. Yes he is stubborn, but he loves God enough, so he should get along just fine. Thats all for now...
